
Sawan Special: IRCTC brings religious tour package
Bharat Gaurav tourist train, operated by (IRCTC) , will depart from Bhagalpur on 27 July 2025. This 12-day journey will cover major religious places in South India, such as Tirupati Balaji, Rameswaram, and Madurai .
With the aim of promoting the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ and ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ schemes of the Ministry of Railways, the operation of ‘Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train’ has been started by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC). This train will leave from Bhagalpur on 27 July 2025 (Sunday). After this, it will complete its 11 nights and 12 days journey via Jasidih, Madhupur, Sujalpur, Barakar, Dhanbad, Bokaro Steel City, Muri, Ranchi, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Champa, Bilaspur, Raipur and Durg stations. During the entire journey, it will visit religious and cultural places of South India.
During the journey, devotees will be able to visit holy places like Tirupati Balaji, Rameshwaram (Jyotirlinga), Madurai, Kanyakumari and Mallikarjuna (Jyotirlinga). Giving information, IRCTC representatives said that this train will take the pilgrims to famous religious places of South India like Tirupati Balaji, Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga, Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, apart from Madurai Kanyakumari.
How much rent will I have to pay?
To travel in this special Bharat Gaurav tourism train, the fare for the person in economy class (sleeper category) will be Rs 22,760 per person and for the standard class (third AC) it will be Rs 39,990 per person. During the 11 night and 12 day journey, all facilities including food and lodging will be available for the passengers and they will be able to visit all the religious places and temples.

IRCTC is offering this journey as an all-inclusive package. This will include facilities like comfortable rail travel with special LHB rakes, onboard and off-board meals, local sightseeing by air-conditioned buses, hotel accommodation, tour escort, travel insurance, security and housekeeping. COVID safety protocols will be followed during all services. This journey will start on 27 July and end on 7 August 2025.
