
Four buses of the convoy carrying Amarnath pilgrims collided . About 36 passengers were injured in the accident near Chandarkot Langar in Ramban district. The accident happened when the driver of a bus lost control due to brake failure. Due to this, three more buses in the convoy collided with each other. On receiving the news, rescue teams immediately reached the spot and the injured pilgrims were taken to District Hospital Ramban for treatment. The remaining passengers were sent to Pahalgam in other vehicles.
Till Friday, more than 26,000 devotees had taken darshan
Earlier, despite heavy rain, a new batch of 6,900 pilgrims left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp on Saturday. This batch includes 5196 men, 1427 women, 24 children, 331 sadhus and sadhvis and one transgender. By 7 pm on Friday, the second day of the start of the yatra, more than 26,000 devotees had darshan of ice shivling in the holy cave. This number has increased to 30 thousand. The Amarnath Yatra started on July 3.

The closing will be on 9th August on the day of Rakshabandhan.
The 38-day long yatra is continuing from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes. It will conclude on 9 August on the day of Rakshabandhan. Last year the yatra lasted for 52 days and 5 lakh devotees visited the holy cave. So far more than 3.5 lakh pilgrims have registered. For registration, centres have been opened in Saraswati Dham, Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan and Mahajan Sabha in Jammu. Here, registration of 2000 devotees is continuing every day.
